[New Episode] Whisper of the Heart: How Does It Feel to Be an Artist | Video Essay

Ghibli films are like Zelda games, the first one you watch always has the most special of places in your heart. My first one happens to be Whisper of the Heart, which I caught on TV when I was around time. Memories are vague, but the experience is still vivid.

My love for the film has only grew over the years, as I become a (sort of) working artist myself. I used to think Princess Mononoke is my favourite Ghibli animation. After this episode, I think I'll change my mind.

Anyway, in this episode, we'll talk about how does it feel to be an artist. It's a very subjective thing, and I'm, of course, only sharing my feelings. If you are an artist, too, come join the conversation!

My Neighbor Totoro has always been my favorite of the Ghibli films. I have found that working as a Graphic Artist has brought me less joy over the years. I have turned to illustrating in my private life to get my creative kick, every Saturday I draw a picture I don't sell them they are just for me its great.

This has appealed to me a lot. Watching it felt cathartic already. It reminded me of my struggles in my early days doing production works and eventually realize that at the final moment of completion, there's melancholy emotive exudes out from my inner satisfaction, akin to saying, 'That's it?'
