How was everyone's week? My insomnia kicks back into gear again, unfortunately. Hope you all stays healthy and active!
Anyway, Happy Father's Day!
ABOUT THE CHANNEL
- Luckily, despite insomnia and a headache, the next episode's editing is currently on track. It's gonna be a fun little action pack video, I think many of you will enjoy. Script for the episode will be uploaded later today.
- While I have a few more episodes planned, I might slow down a bit for the next month and. Continuous quarantine has been tough, and I might need a bit of a break in between episode. Don't worry, I still plan on doing this bi-weekly. But I just won't stick to the set schedule as rigorously, meaning I might take Friday off, but will work on a Sunday instead.
- On an unrelated note: We have a subreddit! Recently someone brought to my attention that, someone created a subreddit /r/AccentedCinema. It's empty there right now, but if you are a Redditor, drop by and say hi. I'll verify my account soon, and maybe post an AMA.
ABOUT MEDIA
- What are some of the movies you didn't managed to finish?
- One recent example for me is 1917. I watched till half way and was not feeling any emotional resonant. The film is beautiful and well-crafted, with strong performance and a pretty good story. But for some reason, I just can't find enough interests in my to finish the viewing. This is a movie that, like Bladerunner 2049, is best enjoyed on the big screen. If watched alone on a small screen.
- The other example I remember failing to finish is Oppai Volleyball, a Japanese movie. I'm so glad the word Oppai has entered the English Lexicon and I don't have to call this movie something else.
- It's about a group of horny middle schoolers and their new teacher's promise: If the boys won the volleyball tournament, the teacher will show them her oppai.
- It's supposed to be a good movie. I heard great praises from many reviews. But if the horny premise didn't deter you, trust me the movie's depiction of the boy's horniness is even worse. I didn't make it past the first 30 minutes, because of the boy's rapid fire sex jokes.
- And I'm the kind of dudes who can handle Japanese ecchi anime. It really is that much.
- Other examples includes 2012, where I was watching it out of boredom. The movie was long, and pretty boring, so I had to take an intermission. I did manage to finish it, though. It wasn't good.
- And finally, I still haven't finish Death Proof, the Tarantino movie. I watch the first half of the film without subtitles, and got lost because I can't hear most of the dialogues. Being a grind house style film, the audio is not the cleanest (on purpose). I plan on going back to the film with subtitles from the start, but so far, I have yet to find the motivation to revisit it.
So that's the update this week. I really should go back to watching more movies, but there isn't a lot that catches my interests lately. Especially with the current climate, It's hard to find myself watching films with heavy and serious subject matters.
I guess in the meantime, I'll continue to find myself sandwiched between Animal Crossing and Xenoblade.
