I was so brain dead during my exam that I kept doing questions in the optional experimental section for 15 minutes before a test proctor told that I can stop the exam and leave 🥴

2023-05-25 23:22:51 +0000 UTCI have a podcast (Intervenciones Gringas Podcast) and we did a nine part series on the Banana Wars, more if you count the bonuses. We originally planned for five or six parts but as we researched we realized there's no way you can do Haiti and DR in the same episode, it's a series within a series. Honduras alone had seven invasions (well, six plus a coup done by a hired goon paid mostly in wives). Panama had to get one episode for the formation of the country and the canal project and another for the Guerra del Coto with Costa Rica. Cuba had a racist military occupation followed by two invasions. Nicaragua was occupied longer than Afghanistan. (That was easily the most fun episode to research - Sandino was the best and never got caught by the gringos). We counted La Masacre de los Bananeros in Colombia as part of the period and did an episode about that too, even tho it was technically Colombians killing other Colombians. Mexico got two regular episodes (Pancho Villa, Veracruz) plus a bonus about the border riots. If you ever decide to go for it, I can help big time with sources. more of them are in English than you might expect, with the exception of the Colombia and Costa Rica/Panama episodes it was majority English language sources. I'd be interested to hear your guys' takes running through that time period in American imperialist history
