BONUS EPISODE: The Sharpe Show 5: Sharpe's Honor

We're back with Sharpe's Honor as we discover Sharpe is just James Bond if he was poor and in the army.

Comments

I love all the "Sean Bean James Bond" comments. And he was in a Bond movie; Goldenye.

Sean Casselman

Next movie episode pitch: The Last Legion, a late ‘00s movie based on a bad Italian novel and costarring our boy Lucius Vorenus.

Matt

I can’t wait until they get to the episode where Sharpe gives a power of attorney to a woman.

Robert Glazebrook

The guy who played Napoleon is Ron Cook, a character actor who has made a career out of playing weasely shitbags on British TV and film. So, definately a diss casting decision.

Ed Scott

Yes, good point! And there was huge controversy when this was pointed out to said doctors - https://www.britannica.com/biography/Ignaz-Semmelweis

Sharpe's Gold is gonna make you guys quit. It's definitely the worst of them all

“A plot device he had to fuck his way through”—what an amazing comment, Joe.

Michael Davies

Fun fact: during that time period, it actually would be safer to deliver a baby with an ex sheep farmer than with a society doctor. Even though they didn't have germ theory, people knew dirty hands weren't ideal for medical care. A doctor would be more likely to assume their hands were clean because they weren't caked in dirt, while anyone whose hands usually were caked in dirt would wash them if they could.

Much like the fifth Bond movie, Sharpe #5 should have also been called: "Sharpe: You Only Live Twice"

Shamus Hewitt

Obviously the company would be called Black Powder Coffee Company.
