Preview: New Co-op role!

With the release of the new Troublemakers boss, you will not be surprised to learn that the new co-op role will be unlocked from the event as well!
As such, we're giving our esteemed patrons a small advance look into the role for the first time.

Vanguard is an advanced Guardian type role, and will be unlocked from reaching Lvl 10 as Guardian (once globally unlocked).

It has a unique approach to protecting people: more fights means a faster win! Balance risk and reward to clobber down that boss!

Vanguard has three unique abilities, two of which are tied together:

Reinforce (1 turn cooldown): Fight before target ally next time they are challenged or trigger a Boss panel. Gain +1 ATK, DEF and EVD in the battle. If you survive the battle, target ally gains +1 ATK, DEF and EVD. If you suffer KO, target ally gains +1 ATK. MOV -1 while active.

Intercept (8 turn cooldown, can be used in a Reinforce battle): If you survive this battle, skip the battle against reinforced ally.

Reinforce can be used with gusto to give increased durability and more Attack to your key units, while also giving an extra battle against the Boss with super boosted stats, and when necessary, Intercept can be activated to save the target from battle entirely.

Bolster (5 turn cooldown): Remove all effects from target player placed on them by Boss or minions. Target player gains 1 HP, plus 1 HP per effect removed. If the target player has no effect set by the Boss or minions, apply Cleansing Aura instead, preventing the next effect applied by the Boss or minions.

Using Bolster ties to the new mechanic where Boss-inflicted status effects are clearly marked in player info. It can be a powerful counter to some of the nasties Boss abilities, while always giving some value.

We also have a new Role Hyper, Vanguard of the Burning Sands: Remove all effects from self and all allies placed on them by Boss or minions. All allies gain 2 HP.
