So do we think Dorothy is going to confirm the Yale acceptance after all? Even if she's re-thinking the presidency as a goal, she may still decide that moving on is what's best for her. (Unless the happiness that Ruth's urging her to pursue is here, with her friends.)

Dorothy just really wants to become Hokage, believe it!

Much like Joyce wondering if she's really herself or if it's actually the autism spectrum operating her.

This is why I love you, Ruth.

Ooo ooo now she gets to do the thing where she questions everything she thinks she wants and wonders if it's genuinely what she wants, or has just convinced herself she wants it right? That's the next step in this, right? ....not like I went through the exact same thing multiple times or anything :x

I love seeing Ruth kick ass at RA-ing

Being fair to yourself can be really hard. And sadly Dorothy is the kind of person who tends to be far too harsh on herself.

Wow, someone said it in-comic. I was willing to go with "10-year-old", but this is close. Ruth has her head tilted back in self-contemplation as she mixes her own situation into her dialogue: she is not looking at Dorothy during the first four panels, which cover the interaction in reverse-shot style, with a borderless panel going to Ruth. The strip switches to two-shot framing as Ruth once more addresses Dorothy, whose reactions we can now see in the same shot with Ruth's delivery of two objectively-true takes on Dorothy's situation. These may not be the best things to say to comfort Dorothy, but Ruth is *advising* here, and that may require at least a nod to reality Dorothy neither looks at Ruth nor speaks throughout the entire strip. She is not arguing. Essay question: compare and contrast Dorothy's long-time fixed notion of her role in life with Jennifer's. Pay particular attention to how each character's notion affects their relations with others and their desire for change.
