Joyce: "Reality, you're in my house now" Reality: "You're going to need a bigger house"

darklion

Maybe? If it was anyone other than Willis, I would've said it's definitely a coincidence.

Jasmijn Wellner

I know what you mean. Nothing wrong with talking like that if it's how the speaker usually talks, but in other cases, well, why can't people just talk like they usually do? What's wrong with just saying "I can tell you've changed! Well done." or something like that?

Rob McBobson

They realized the fight would never be resolved and then had a Kraft dinner together.

Seth Aaron Hershman has they she pronouns

Wait, did they like, explicitly make up from their big fight and I just don't remember or could they just not stay mad enough at each other and it fizzled out?

Fart Captor

Crazy eyes!

Alacrity Fitzhugh

I love the way Joyce's face and head do all the work in this strip while her hands-on-hips ready-for-the-future stance remains the same!. It's also an interesting fine point of technique that the deer-in-the-headlights look in the last panel can only work if the eye is looking right at the reader even though Joyce's head is turned towards Jennifer and Becky.

Dan Rabin

Ohhhhh sweetie. That's one hell of a 'this is fine' face. And Jennifer's way of being supportive is sweet and I'm glad to see it but I am very glad I'm not Joyce because I hate people talking to me in therapy speak. I know they don't mean it to and so I don't say anything to them but it always feels condescending

BBCC

OK, is it intentional and ironic here that Joyce uses the word "unshackled" to describe casting off her former beliefs, when UNSHACKLED! is the title of a long-running evangelical Christian radio drama (produced since 1950 and still running)? (In which each week's protagonist is "unshackled" - i.e., freed of their burdens - by EMBRACING Christianity.)

Harold

Well...not really. Becky agrees with the changes part, but she doesn't seem quite ready to echo the validation. It does seem like she's starting to realize that what Joyce is going through isn't some phase she needs to get over.

Harold

Yup, that’s how I felt about going off anxiety meds back in the day, “hooray, new me! Who might be old me before the meds were necessary and I have zero clue what the fuck I’m going to do now”

MrShoggoth

Jennifer can add “successful Becky wrangler” to her resume

Sajuuk-Khar

Oh that’s just the two liters of fizzy sugar water kicking in

Magic Chopstick Games

judge it by its size do you

David Willis

Is that last panel #5.5?
