Becky already knows about Joyce's atheism - she overheard Joyce's mocking (largely self-mocking) conversation with Liz, and it hurt her deeply. (But as this strip amply demonstrates, Becky's love for Joyce > her feelings about the changes Joyce is experiencing.)

I'm having trouble thinking of what else she could mean. Maybe she's looking to set boundaries with friends who are forcing too much unsolicited help on her?
