Special Sleepy Hollow Livestream

We thought the idea of reading the Sleepy Hollow would make a great livestream.  I have been practicing for the last few days and I think it is going to be a lot of fun.  Head on over to Youtube at 3:30pm and join us for a wonderful story.

I am not surprised by this recent success, as so many people are listening to books via Audible.com and other services. Listening engages different parts of our brains than reading, and who doesn't love a good fireside story? Would also love to hear you read articles from period newspapers both in the US and UK. Providing analysis/historical context helps enormously. However, for fiction, I suggest you leave the analysis until the end of the reading (or the end of an installment for larger works), or in a separate video, so as not to disrupt the narrative. I'd be satisfied with regular or semi-regular readings of first person narrative/personal correspondence/ newspaper articles/diary entries/accounts of juicy court cases/etc. in addition to fiction As for tying in the readings to the cooking demonstrations, well, you kind of already do that. The period cookbooks are their own special genre that you do a fantastic job of sharing and interpreting. But I think it's a great idea to relate other readings to the cooking videos, but I wouldn't necessarily expect a reading to complement a cooking demo every week. Any interesting reading would work for me, whether or not it ties in with food. Final note: If you would like to read something substantial like a very long story or journal, then yes, you could break it up into separate readings. I believe you should give this a try. Your loyal and quirky audience knows to check the Community section of your YT channel for updates on upcoming videos, and you guys are very good about announcing the dates and times of upcoming videos in the Tavern. So we can keep track of livestream readings over the course of separate videos. And you can always group the videos from one book into a playlist afterwards for those who want to binge watch. THANK YOU AND YOUR TEAM for all that you do. You folks are awesome!
