Dev update #96
Added 2022-11-21 12:44:26 +0000 UTCHi! It's getting boring, but I've got good news again! Maybe I shouldn't have said that since (hopefully) no one is complaining.
I just finished last sex animations. They are now in queue and should be ready in the next couple of hours. It seems that all the rendering tasks are not fully completed. No more static images and no more animations.
So what's next? Like I mentioned, post processing. Or color grading, whatever sounds more professional.
All the recent preview images you've seen were color graded, and I think, they look absolutely gorgeous. I think this is the peak of my rendering skills. Wait! Let me rephrase that. I think those are the best looking renders I could produce with my current skillset.
I don't like that one either. I'm spending way too much time around lawyers.
Anyway! Post processing! I have never color graded images before - not a single Deliverance render was handled this way. Please, don't panic! I practiced a lot, watched interesting shots from movies and I think I know which direction I'd like to go. I'm pushing more towards the cinematic look rather than the realistic feel. I'll try to give you an image before and after color grading in the next preview and you'll let me know what you think.
How long will it take? I'm hoping I'll be done with color grading in the next 10 days. As I said, I've never done it on hundreds of renders before, so I expect some delays and screw-ups.
One tiny, spoilery info about the Episode 1? Well, here it goes! 1240 renders!
Let's take a look at current stats:
- Coding - 100%
- Reworks - 100%
- Static renders - 100%
- Animations - 90% (remaining 10% is in queue)
- Writing - 95%
- Music - 80%
- Postproduction - 5%
- SFX - 0%
- Testing - 0%
Take care!

The beta version should be ready in ~14 days, maybe slightly more and that means hours of testing! :) It's been a crazy ride and the game hasn't been released yet! About color grading Deliverance. Unfortunately, my current workflow cannot be applied to Deliverance. Why? (Some technical stuff incoming) Because all renders were done in PNG as opposed to this game which were done in EXR. PNG images can't be color graded the same way as EXRs. Simple reason, but blocks me completely.

2022-11-22 09:31:55 +0000 UTCTrue. I'm doing my best and, what's most important for me, I enjoy myself. I can't remember the last time I've had so much fun while 'working'!
