Zoro learn a projectile attack in Skypiea which is pretty much an air slash that he develop from a move called Hawk wave that he used since Whisky Peak. Obviously you can enjoy it without knowing all of this but Oda is that guy, he's one of the best subtle writer that never forget anything that he has written. PS. I really like Captain T-Bone lol
