2021-01-22 23:46:29 +0000 UTCSomething that might help you understand better why Baki is acting the wayhe is, is that this isn't just some tournament this is THE tournament and he's introduced Kozue to his world this is a very serious moment and Baki is taking it extremely serious, he'll Joke around somewhat still but Baki after the the timeskip is a lot more serious. You should also think about how when it comes to Yujiro Baki can get irrational. And finally you should think about that even though Baki is pretty mature for his age he is still just a kid with some serious parental issues. And something to help you understand Baki's meditation at the Elder Sage Tree since you guys seem hung up on it. The manga didn't start with the Childhood Saga it started at the Underworld Arena Saga and then when Baki went to the Tree in the manga that's when the Childhood saga started and then when the Childhood Saga ended the manga went back to Baki finishing his meditation and starting the Maximum Tournament Saga. I already typed this before but it's not here anymore so I retyped it.

He probably feels like he's still not being acknowledged by his dad, even after hes been the Champs for a while. Baki is jealous too tho dont get me wrong. Like always great Baki reaction guys!
