It is my favorite arc in the anime, my favorite arc in the manga is probably alabasta, maybe the arc after Punk Hazard. Marineford, as much as I love it for the story elements, has pacing issues for me(like most of One Piece after it caught up to the Manga), that brings it down for me. It’s definitely top tier in the manga though.

2021-07-21 23:41:12 +0000 UTCOne of my favorite things about Fishman Island and this arc you're getting into right now(my favorite arc in the series), is that it really lets the Straw Hats breathe as the strengthened characters they are after the timeskip, they don't immediately run into an enemy that is suddenly their perfect match for plot convenience, the Straw Hats, at least the main powerhouses, are indisputably, pound for pound the toughest fighters in these arcs, for the first time in the series, at least ever since they got to the grand line, it's the enemies who are on the defensive for the most part, not the Straw Hats. This isn't to say there's no danger, but it's a much different feeling than most arcs.
