You don't suddenly start to torture people unless you were mentally fucked up as it is (non-violent type people aren't just going to kill ppl if they get spotted doing a crime by a cop, because that's not who they are. Well that's not a 100% guarantee, but it's more likely they won't be doing that shit, than someone who doesn't give a fuck and would 100% do that shit at the drop of a hat, hence Latent Criminal and not a Criminal as the brain pattern scans detect them to be volatile units)

2021-09-24 20:04:56 +0000 UTCIt basically switched to Lethal Mode because she was a potential terrorism hazard since she was yeeting gasoline canisters everywhere, while holding a lighter that might lit it up to explode/burn the infrastructure, hence why it switched to Lethal Mode at that moment, and dropped back once she calmed + ejected the lighter, thus not a terrorism threat anymore since no fire/explosion combo

They claim that criminals are too dangerous to apprehend without lethal force. That's what Akane is fighting against. She believes in the latent criminals and SUCCESSFULLY converts them back. The "professionals" would've just killed the innocents.

She's literally the only one with the mindset geared towards saving latent criminals rather than violently capturing them or killing. For someone to question the system in the way she does takes incredible strength. She's more than ready for this.
