He has to do it this way because if he somehow just saved Kurisu and didn't trick his past self into sending that 1st D-Mail to Daru then it would be a paradox and this whole show would've never happened.

Basically it’s complicated talk to describe a worldline where they both survive and they avoid WW3 that hypothetical world line is the one they named steins gate

2021-11-14 03:30:44 +0000 UTCTime Travel is confusing and amazing cause maybe I read it wrong but i think he has make his past self think she died, because if he just saved her then he wouldn't need to build the time machine in the future which then means he couldn't went back in time to save her. So his past self needs to think she died so he builds the time machine which enable him to save her.

Kurisu being stabbed by Okabe was shocking asf, Mayuri slapping the shit outta of Okabe to talk sense into him was some good shit and the video message from his future self. Seeing the motivated drive and confident energy return to our boyy was too hype. Such a long time since we heard that fkin mad scientist laugh. Sawlid reaction. Can't wait for the finale :(
