Somewhat troubled future

For a while now I'm dealing with crashes during rendering. It severely limits my ability to create new content (not even talking about lack of free time due to my real world job that lately forces me to stay in the office not only overtime but also during weekends).

I tried many things and I'm starting to suspect faulty main board in the computer. That is most probably the worst case scenario as my computer is pretty much outdated and replacing main board would mean that I would have to replace CPU, RAMs,...

The above mentioned problems are also impacting the creation of the ongoing comic I'm posting here these days "The Sleeping Beauty" and brings questions about how to proceed later on.

What I would like to do is to resume the dormant story of Ms. Felicity Harper. However, since that story had pages consisting of multiple images each it would be a nightmare.

Another thing I'm mulling over right now is to limit content updates to the $5 tier and up (however it won't happen until the Sleeping Beauty is fully published). And with the recent issues that I'm facing - technical, time and health - it may never happen.

How much money are we talking for a new board and cpu and ram? Do you make enough off of here to cover it?

I was facing this problem a few times in past already. It always went away after a while. Now it seems it stays put :(

But that’s Nvidia GPU, I’m talking CPU upgrades. I’d take an Nvidia GPU than AMD Radeon or Navi, But for CPUs lately, Ryzen Zen 2 is a sweet piece of tech.

That's rough sir. I had my share of hardware failures last year. I hope you can get it sorted out.

It's a software limitation for DAZ is why he has to stick with what he stated I'm afraid. DAZ is optimized to use the NVIDIA CUDA cores for rendering.

I don’t know man.. their “Zen 2” 3rd Gen Ryzen launch put them pretty close, even surpassing them in cases. (Since intel has been stuck on the 14nm process for 4 years and AMD is now on 7nm) A lot of people of switching lately because of the raw performance..

For several reasons, If I would upgrade I would stick with Intel. I'm using apps that rely heavily on single thread performance and AND just can't compete there... My options are limited to Intel for CPU and NVIDIA for GPU.

If you have no choice but to upgrade, I recommend going the AMD Ryzen Path as that is cheaper whilst still bringing decent performance to the table.. intel just keeps getting more ridiculous lately.. price wise.
