Sales tax charging changes introduced by Patreon
Added 2020-05-28 17:43:24 +0000 UTCSome of you may already receive a notification from Patreon, however, in case you havent, or not yet, here is what is coming starting July the 1st.
So, as stated above, starting with July the 1st Patreon will be required by law to collect sales tax on the pledges. As I understand this requirement is also region dependent. So, based on the region you are from, this may or may not apply to you.
In order to minimize the impact on as many people who support me, I adjusted my support tiers so they are listed as "General Support" which (at least in some regions) is type of support that is exempt from taxation. And honestly, except for the $100 tier that comes with the benefit of a custom commission, all the other tiers are pretty much there to allow you to support me in creating my works.
