on topic about the insurance companies... If it wasn't required by law for insurance companies to not discriminate based on if the customer is already sick or not, people would be paying for insurance when they are healthy instead of just paying whenever they get seriously ill, giving the companies more money to dispence. At this point I would rather the government say "fuck it we are socializing healthcare fully" or "fuck the regulations all together" instead of this crony capitalism system we got here.

Best thumbnail. Also Sean is, of course, absolutely right about insurance companies being scumbags. I work in a pharmacy and there's the obvious problems like severe diabetics having to pay hundreds of dollars for insulin when in coverage gaps or while paying off deductibles, because their insurance gives them no choice and without it they'll die. But also they will arbitrarily not pay for things that they deem to expensive, looking for doctors to go through lengthy approval and clinical evidence nonsense. All while the patient has to go without, and everyday they go without their medication that's more money the insurance weasels out of paying.
