I don't think it will. It doesn't really spoil anything about the show other than that confrontation will happen when they leave for that mission, and when they arrive at that fortress. It doesn't show you the conclusion or the circumstances leading up to that encounter (are sasuke and orochimaru still working together? was a question lindsay asked) As far as how poorly the show did up to that point during airing, I doubt it had a whole lot to do with that flash forward, and more to do with how week that arc was in general and how limited the production was up to that point. Early shippuden was notorious for poor animation and it had many of the problems part 1's production did, so I think it's disingenuous to blame the lack-luster reception of the first two arcs on a 5 minute intro sequence that didn't really reveal anything about the story other than the fact that naruto and sasuke will collide on a mission in the future.

I found from watching other reactions it colors their reactions when we arrive to that point in the show. That being said if it something you really like its totally up to you to include it. As someone who was a manga person long before Naruto was animated I can tell you that the whole manga fan base hated it. You are correct that it was included to hype the series but it had the opposite affect. Rating struggled for the first 40 ish episode cause of this scenes inclusion. Those scenes were what was happening in the manga just a few months before the episode aired. I treat it as a spoiler when I show new people myself and never include it. Hopefully when she gets to that episode it wont ruin her experience with the scene when it is shown for real.
