I always felt the same way about the hype around the Grand Line too! Looking back, when thinking of it as a shonen, I wonder if it is a parallel to how young teens view adulthood. And some adults who never really grew up who are still terrified of it. Looking at it that way, it is fitting how someone like Zeff fared pretty well there while a big head like Don Krieg got effed up real quick.

Since the next one takes place during the same time as the Koby-Meppo one, meaning they can already read it. I wrote a quick script to crop out the title for each of them & reuploaded it. It's not technically just "anime canon" since it's manga canon, just told in a slightly different way as a story that goes on in the background throughout the book covers, but you sometimes get to see the results in the main story medium. It also goes towards explaining how some things in the OP world are evolving behind the scenes while we're focusing on the main characters!

They want to keep as many people away from the grand line so the one piece is never found.

Also really love that it's not just Koby fighting against the odds but also Helmeppo, he's pulling himself up and even Koby with him at times, crazy how far they have grown even this early on.
