What’s cool is that the author originally started to write this manga based on the theme of a platonic relationship between people where one views the other as a parental figure. So Yuki and Tohrus relationship was meant to be this way from THE beginning. This theme was basically the reason fb exists.

Tohru has mentioned before that she got lost after a few kids bullied her so she ran and got lost and she did stay the whole night in the street.
Also, Kyo hates Yuki not only because he is on the inside but because of the "the rat is special' thing, someone mentioned on his mother's funeral that she would not have died if she had given birth to the rat. So he has this hatred as in his mind, Yuki is to blame for her death.
About Yuki, Lindsey mentioned something that is pretty spot on about what happened to him because of the special treatment as the rat is the one more close to God, since he has that "superior/ special" status and that puts him on a shelf, separating him from the others. And that is a really important thing to comprehend how he was isolated from the others, not only because he was "given" to Akito by his parents but because he was not part of any circle. He was a zodiac but not like the others, he was special but not the GOD, so in a way, no one liked him, cared about him.
I always appreciate this episode on how they present Yuki's feelings about his past and about Tohru. It is clear that she is a big and important influence in his life and we have some insight as to why and how he deals with it.
Great reaction! We are almost at the end of the season, lots of good moments to come!

So about the animals and metaphor thing, there’s definitely a reason for it, and I think it is integral to the story being told. I get what Carson means and to an extent he’s right, but personally, I don’t think the story would’ve been as good without that metaphor element, but I can’t really say why because you haven’t gotten to that point yet. As we get more into the endgame of the story I’ll be interested if you still think the animal metaphor thing is unnecessary, because I think the show uses that to do things that would be impossible, or very difficult to do, without that element of the story.

i don't think Akito snapping was meant to be a climactic moment in the episode, the climactic moment was Yuki running off. I think Akito snapping was more meant to be a mystery moment, we're seeing more about Akito and the audience is meant to go "oh, Akito used to be normal, but then he just snapped? What happened? Was it magic? Was it some traumatic event? Was it something building up over time? Was it something else?". These are the questions i believe the episode was trying to present the audience to theorize about.

i will just say there's an explanation for Akito's change in behavior that i believe is very realistic/satisfying. just trust the story to get you there
