So I am just hoping they don't remove elements of the manga that are immportant. So we are deffinitly going to have to give a test run before boldcast decides rather or not they want to go this route. They still have a ways to go before they get to this arc, but in theory it sounds like a better way to experience the longer drawn out moments of the story, but still.. ill be keeping a close eye on it.

And the new sound effects (instead the ones Toei been using since the fuckin 90s) will also apply for the anime moving forward afaik (ง •̀_•́)ง

It'll be condensed from 58 to 21 episodes, have remastered visuals, new OSTs & SFX too. You will probably catch up to that arc a week or two before the remake finishes airing🥳

The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Absalom's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Absalom truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in his's existencial catchphrase "Marry me" which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Oda's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Absalom tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

2024-10-13 08:40:14 +0000 UTCAs much as I hate the whole Nami/Absalom storyline, I really like that in the end Sanji failed saving her as the damsel in distress. Even though he did most of the heavy lifting in beating Absalom, its not him saving her in the end, its Nami that saves herself with the help of her new friend Lola. I just love the last couple of moments of this episode when the strawhats are getting ready to face Oars together.
