Loved your reaction to this, you're in for a great ride! I'm looking forward to your upcoming Buffy reactions.
Stay with the 4:3 original format if you can, the 16:9 HD remaster is atrocious and should be avoided at all costs.
Also, if you stick with the show for longer, which I really hope you do, there's an official reactor's guide to the episodes from season 4 onwards once the spin-off show Angel starts, so you can watch them in the most optimum order:

See you on the next one :)

I could tell from your Glee reactions that you were going to thrive on the campiness here. I love the way this show combines humor and horror, and eventually some really excellent drama.

The ending of this episode never worked for me, Jessie was Xander's and Willow's friend, he was murdered and turned into a vampire and the next morning after his second death as a vampire they're doing witty banter with Buffy. I understand the show wanted to establish its tone and the witty dialog is a big part of that but right after Jessie's death? That felt a bit off.
