Yeah, this is probably one of my least favorites too and like you it's not horrible, it's just not as exciting and engaging as the others. Although I still think there are some really good scenes. I think the funeral scene for Frigga was beautiful, the music was great. I love Loki's journey, that moment when he takes the illusion away and shows Thor his true self is powerful, seeing him vulnerable like that was nice to see, I love the detail of his feet bleeding from the broken glass. And of course the best moment for me is the Chris Evans cameo, he looked like he had so much fun! It's interesting that Loki would pick Cap, maybe he felt a bit jealous by him, I think it was obvious in the Avengers that Thor most likely respected Cap the most which would make sense, they both have been in battle and in a way soldiers and despite one being a God and the other just a man they have quite a bit in common.

As I mentioned earlier, it's a kind of 'speed-bump' on the MCU highway. It serves to advance the character arcs while introducing "the aether". More to follow on that. You did your typical top-notch job here, thank you very much. Keep on 'frisking'.

And Chris Evans in real life is more like he is portrayed in this movie as compared to the way he normally portrays Captain America. He's a very funny guy!

That's a good way to describe this movie. It's how I feel, too: I liked it, didn't love it. Now to answer some of your questions. That large rock creature that Thor defeats in the beginning is called a Kronan (I might have spelled that incorrectly). That actor you couldn't quite place during the mid-credits scene is Benicio Del Toro. Those grenades that are used throughout the movie are implosion grenades, essentially the opposite of regular grenades. They basically create tiny black holes. Also, if you think Chris Hemsworth looks muscular in this movie (he totally is, obviously) wait till you see him in the newest Thor movie! He got so jacked for Thor: Love and Thunder because "he got bored during the pandemic and had nothing else to do." Not quite a direct quote, but close enough. These MCU movies are a blend of CGI and natural affects, but I would guess that it definitely skews more toward the CGI side. Anyways, the next two movies in the MCU (Captain America: Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy) are my two favorite movies in Phase II of the MCU!

Nope, not CGI. They really got Chris Evans for a 10 second cameo to do an impression of Loki doing impression of Captain America LMFAO. On IMDb, he's listed in the cast list as "Loki as Captain America (uncredited)."
