I appreciate Hopper trying to protect El and I get his feelings in that fight but with that being said I do think it's fucked up how he kept El locked up. It just is. This poor girl was a captive for the first 11 or so years of her life. She experiences a taste of freedom and then gets locked up again? It's not right. Hopper could have thought outside the box in protecting her. Homeschool her.... dye her hair red or blonde or something. Only allow her outside to go to her friends house. There's ways he could have protected her without keeping her locked up. One only has so many years of childhood... let her have a modicum of happiness in the time that she has. To be honest, I think there is a selfish part of Hopper that liked having El to himself and not having to share his daughter's time with others.

2024-02-24 05:14:50 +0000 UTCI feel so bad for Max in this episode! But I get where Mike is coming from too (in this episode). They can’t let Max in on the secrets because the people at the lab might find out and hurt them. Max ofc doesn’t know that so obviously she’s gonna feel left out. That being said, I hate the way Mike acts towards her the rest of the time, just because he’s missing El that doesn’t give him the right to be rude to Max! I’m more on Hopper’s side during the argument with El. He’s keeping her safe and he’s really scared of losing her. But I do think in the morning he should’ve swallowed his pride and apologised.
