Demo 2 (Fixed)
Added 2023-03-28 05:00:03 +0000 UTCOk, let's try this again. I want to apologize to everyone, especially Johnny Sneed who did extensive testing to get to part 2, for what happened with the first demo. Cactus looked into it and figured out the issue.
What happened is that we had been using a build with a skip directly to part 2. We had been using it for quite a while and didn't realize there was now an event in Abby's path. Abby being an event, could not cross it which is what caused the problem. Cactus adjusted her settings to let her through. With that resolved, part 2 can now be accessed and should work. We played through the transition point and a decent way into part 2. We've already tested the rest of part 2 and since cactus' fix only affects the Abby sprite, it should still work. *Special note though, when you search Nessie's room, or any room that needs searched, click on the floor INFRONT of what you want to search. It's a workaround to the weird way the engine handles impassable objects that we're still in the process of finding an alternative for.

First, i wanna say, thank you a ton for such extensive feedback! It means a lot that you took the time to analyze everything and type this up. Character wise, I see Clara is your fave, but which of the others do you find the most interesting? On a similar note, which of the two routes did you use to lure Konrad away? As for the bugs, I can safely say that they've been squashed. The Maddie one in particular was due to forgetting that we removed the hall block in an earlier build. I also wanted to know a little more about this "As I knew Liana was in this demo, I had wondered if I had bugged out of that sequence by pursuing the Conrad one in what I thought was perhaps a choice between who you wish to look into first." if possible." The intent is that you can do them or Konnie in either order, did one lock you out of the other?

2023-04-22 02:32:34 +0000 UTC(Played through the demo, time for a review and some technical stuff I noticed that you and Cactus may or may not be aware of.) I'll start by saying that Clara is best girl~ π Thus far, whenever Veleno gets himself restricted in some fashion, she's the consistent dependable one to help him get out of it, and if there weren't a case in urgent need of solving, that "Maybe I should just take you back to my room" line of dialogue wouldn't sound like all that bad of a game over... ...and also, kudos to her for being able to ignore seduction tactics that are taking place not that far away whenever Veleno needs something from Jamie. π€ (Given that you've already published some future assets that involve her, I'll be on the lookout to see what her role continues to be in the story~) Interrogation segments were interesting, and given that some of the assets for Liana's were published ahead of the second demo, I was curious how she'd be in a state of undress but not bound unless Veleno's got some kind of silver tongue I'm not aware of. But it makes sense she'd be waiting for that specific someone in the way she was. (Chuckled at the usage of a "rear smack" for interrogation purposes.) I'm fond of the way you draw cloth gags, so it is the option I always go for if available and it's always nice to see it appear in the art assets~ (Part of me laments that Kiz got struck by the serial binder so early, but it is what it is~) As to the subject of game overs, I believe I found them all but I can't remember what the 4th one was off the top of my head (Mara's Slideshow, "Remember me?", and Conrad + Veleno). Of the named, I think the one with Cassidy & Mara's project relating to... "sensory deprivation" was my favorite. Simply due to the art. It'd be nice to see them extended a bit and a specific screen relating to each one. π I think that covers all the story beats that were available, but here's some technical aspects I found while playing: -If Veleno goes up to a locked door while he is "restricted", it causes the art of him to disappear while he makes his usual comment about a door being locked. The restricted state is still present, it can be resolved as per a usual chosen method (such as Clara or Kiz), but it is bugged out. -If you go back to Veleno's room before the intended time (which leads to the Kiz segment), it triggers the audio of Nessie's scream to play with then shows Veleno wonder what it was he just heard, but that's the extent of it. -If you go into Maddie's room again after she goes looking for Conrad, you will cause the same sequence of events to play out up until she goes to look for Conrad after he has been stashed away by Veleno. At that point, it leads to a crash. -With a number of events going on, it feels like you can lock yourself out of the intended story path if you're not careful, so you might be wandering around a bit unsure of where to go next. As I knew Liana was in this demo, I had wondered if I had bugged out of that sequence by pursuing the Conrad one in what I thought was perhaps a choice between who you wish to look into first. -I'm not sure if there's an option to get what you need from the janitor elsewhere if you use one the two dialogues before the other, he runs away and you are stopped from (potentially) obtaining what you need I think that's everything. I am certainly enjoying the product of the work you and cactus are putting in. Eager to see any future demos or future assets that might be shared! -Johnny
