You should look up the manga drawings of the library episode, it’s horrifying, traumatized so many kids😂

In the Funimation dub, the drink was first called a remedy. After that, the drink was always called an elixir. Even with those changes, the post-credit scene more or less played out the same. They really didn’t try to change what was going on. Who knows if they had any plans on changing that scene, because ultimately the library episode never aired. I don’t know you’ve already brought this up and/or if anyone has told you this, but the dub, even though it reached and stopped at EP 123 (EP 130 for the dub, Funimation decided to split the specials into separate episodes), only the first 49 episodes actually aired on Adult Swim. The network decided to drop Case Closed after the diplomat case due to low ratings. The rest of the episodes were only available through DVD and eventually Funimation’s streaming service. So, this point was pretty much the beginning of the end for the dub, although you can make the argument that the dub was doomed to fail from the start. The name changes (even though this is largely a non-issue but it certainly had its drawbacks), other localization decisions, and having it air on Adult Swim (meaning a late broadcast) all hindered the dub.
And yeah, some specials will do a recap of sorts. So, you can go ahead and skip them if you want. Also, you missed a second post-credit scene for the library episode. It showed Conan stumbling around, obviously hungover lol good stuff.

Whoo another conan reaction. I'm just curious how will you handle the movies? I know technically they're non-canon but things about them can become Canon you'll see if you do watch them I'm just asking because the placements of the first movie is after episode 54
