Very late but imo the point was to show you why the Purge in itself started, and how the first one went about from the pov of these characters. Basically it is a lore dump, nothing more. I mean Dimitri's whole thing was to protect his own (people he cares for)

2024-07-09 04:45:10 +0000 UTCNot that it really matters, its a movie. But you were both correct explosions don't suck themselves back in unless they are Oppenheimer sized. Also if you shoot C4 with a gun it wont explode. It needs an electric current which is why you always see them with wires. I normally forgive movies for this but being the ending scene it leaves a bad taste. Y'all were awesome though as per the usual!!! A much funnier and prettier Bert and Ernie :P
