talking about micke now

i was telling a really close friend about my main issue with micke's backstory being that i feel his is a bit too grounded in reality and a bit ..... boring if one can say so, like he really doesnt have much of a sci-fi sort of backstory, and his only motivations are often that he just wants to feel safe and accepted

sometimes i just wonder why did i changed the main protagonist of the story back to him, when he is the one that haves the least real motivations of the bunch (only seconded by Luke, and third by Ericka)

i mean to an emotional level i know its cause of how close i relate, but story wise that sometimes doesnt feel like justification enough to make him the main character

there is also the conflict that illustrating his backstory gives me a bad case of dysphoria cause im basing his younger looks on my old looks when i was a teenager

Having the central character of a story not be the one driving most of the story's events is okay! "Moby Dick" is written from the perspective of Ishmael, a guy who barely does anything for most of the book. Having someone without sci-fi powers as the central character of a story where some people DO have those powers also can work great, because you can explore how they react to those powers in other people, and get their perspective on things.
