July Process/Behind the Scenes - Desmond Image Set
Added 2023-07-10 04:27:37 +0000 UTCHere's a more detailed peek into various stages of my process for last month's image set! Some fullsize WIP images, some detail crops, and some screengrabs as a little window into my workflow, especially using the reference popup + split screen to get my bearings.
A little behind the scenes insight: I had a major workflow success with this set in that I finished the background layer first, before even adding detailed sketches. (It might seem like a no brainer, but my ADHD decidedly does not agree.) I knew I couldn't afford to tempt fate this time, since environment in this set ended up being pretty detailed/time consuming, especially with the lighting and weird perspective. Having that layer 100% finalized and not needing to fiddle with it *at all* (beyond some nitpicky color adjustment and end-of-process lighting masks) saved me a continuous headache later. So a big thank you to past me for being responsible ๐

(Also the Divine Ghoul Dong comment gave me a solid chuckle, thank you ๐) In all honesty though, sometimes I get down on myself when a set takes an exceptionally long time or I fixate a bit too hard on certain areas, but sometimes I just can't help it. It means sooo much to me that the little details and nitpicky touches I put in don't go unnoticed, and that you enjoy seeing the process behind it all ๐
