2024-07-13 10:55:12 +0000 UTCKnowing that you wouldn't be able to YouTube it, you'd still be able to mention that you're doing Ghibli on Patreon. Would be interesting to see if new Patreon Subs can be picked up. [your data analyst will let you know =] Also I (we?) wouldn't expect the same production value knowing that you wouldn't be able to monetize through YouTube.

2024-07-12 22:54:28 +0000 UTCChris Penn’s Nice Guy Eddie really stood out for me on this rewatch. He’s playing a dangerous mobster who’s pretending to be this goofball idiot. There’s a few little moments where you see the nice guy persona slip and a more calculating character is revealed. I saw the Indian remake before I saw the original. One of the ways it’s like a play is that it’s endlessly adaptable. The story works in different contexts and the script would work with different actors.

2024-07-12 12:42:08 +0000 UTCJackie Brown is my favourite Tarantino. Reservoir Dogs is so clearly a movie made by a guy who read a lot of Elmore Leonard books it makes sense that he would go on to do an adaptation.

2024-07-11 20:54:14 +0000 UTCI remember I watched this a lot on VHS while I was waiting for 'Pulp Fiction' to come out...also on VHS. Fuck, I'm old.

2024-07-11 20:06:59 +0000 UTCIt was tough on Tim Roth laying there all day, there were so much fake blood and by the end of the day he'd essentially be "glued" to the ground as the blood dried. The radio station not only provides atmosphere and world building, it also makes the music diegetic.

2024-07-11 17:38:09 +0000 UTCI cannot recommend Jackie Brown enough. Tarantino's best film and best of all: It’s an Elmore Leonard adaptation.
