Help me pick the first Christmas movie to watch!!
Added 2020-11-20 01:38:44 +0000 UTCHey y'all!
So I already know what I plan to watch next week, but can you help me get started for this Christmas season?🎅🎄🎁 Let me know which of these you'd like a reaction to the most!
Keep in mind, all of these movies I have either seen parts of or vaguely know the story. I couldn't really think of many classic Christmas films that I've seen nothing of.
I'll definitely be doing a couple more Christmas polls so don't worry if you don't see your favorite movie on here! Feel free to make suggestions in the comments below of course.
Comments
I realize its probably too late to suggest a Holiday Movie but "Office Christmas Party" (2016) is the funniest Holiday movie I have ever seen with an all star cast including Jason Bateman, Jennifer Aniston and T.J. Miller. If its too late for a suggestion you may want to check it out for your own enjoyment. The comedic talent in this movie is tremendous. Respectfully, Kenneth

2021-12-24 06:16:23 +0000 UTCYou can't watch a Christmas movie and not have it be either National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, or Jingle all the Way. The former is the greatest Christmas movie ever, and the latter is great because it's kind of terrible. But in a really fun way.

2020-11-29 04:58:25 +0000 UTCI voted for A Christmas Story, but I'd really like to see Nat react to the 1974 cult classic Black Christmas (ignore the remakes, they both suck).

2020-11-26 19:31:12 +0000 UTCHi!! Since it's the Christmas season, I wanted to recommend a movie that gets no respect. "The Ref" is an amazingly funny Christmas movie. It does have those Dennis Leary rants, but it is a really original and funny holiday movie. This poll was posted a few days ago so I assume someone else mentioned this, but please check this movie out. Love you Nat and hope you have a wonderful holiday season.

2020-11-20 18:59:20 +0000 UTCYes, definitely recommended and I mentioned a couple of these movies in my post and The Last Boy Scout is probably the best Bruce Willis action picture outside of the Die Hard series. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang was good but the weakest of the bunch here because it wasn't that memorable in my opinion.

2020-11-20 18:04:27 +0000 UTCI'm getting on in years and find that I don't really have the same enthusiasm for X-mas movies that I once did. I think it's because I've seen them so many times that I just don't get excited by them anymore. I understand that doing more popular shows gets more views and subscribers, and I can't fault you for that, this being a small part of the business of show and all. What I would love to see is some attention to some fantastic but maybe less celebrated X-mas specials. Some that I love off the top of my head would be "A Wish for Wings that Work" by Berkeley Breathed which has Opus and Bill the Cat of Bloom County Fame, "Emmet Otter's Jug-band Christmas" from Jim Henson's company, or even "The Star Wars Holiday Special" which is pretty much terrible in every way, but still fun to enjoy it's undeniable badness. I'll still watch whatever you react to, but maybe give one or all of these a chance. Keep building your channels Natalie! you've been doing great so far and it's been a real treat for us!

2020-11-20 16:20:56 +0000 UTCOf these four, I lean A Christmas Story. NBC is great, no doubt, I just prefer it closer to Boo! than Ho Ho Ho. But would make a great watch. Never seen all of Polar Express, but know the book it’s based on very well. Be interested to see how the movie plays without feeling it’s padding the story. Home Alone... I hate this movie, aside from the third act. I really do. The family is so ridiculously mentally abusive, it’s disgusting. And I have a bias, coming from an abusive background. I’m sorry, I don’t get the joke and anytime I have to watch, I wonder why the mother is not secretly plotting creative ways to murder the uncle. Based on what Kevin comes up with to guard the house, I’d pay to see that movie! Christmas Story, please?
Matthew Periolat
2020-11-20 15:59:14 +0000 UTCDie Hard is a popular suggestion but I think it was said that Natalie has already seen it before so would not be a "true" reaction. Die Hard 2 is also set during Christmas time. Here are my Christmas suggestions: Gremlins (1984) Lethal Weapon (1987) Scrooged (1988) Christmas Vacation (1989) Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992) Batman Returns (1992)- Must see Batman 89 beforehand but this has definitely qualifies based on the opening alone and Michelle Pfeiffer steals every scene she is in. The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996)- One of the most underrated action pictures during the 90s that is set during Christmas time and has a decent amount of good humor. Samuel L. Jackson (who plays Nick Fury in the MCU) has said it was one of his favorite roles. Jingle All the Way (1996)- A lighthearted Christmas comedy starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Reindeer Games (2000)- A forgotten action picture with Ben Affleck and Charlize Theron that takes place during Christmas time. It was not well received but I thought it was entertaining. A Bad Moms Christmas (2017)- Should definitely watch/react to Bad Moms beforehand but this is a fun raunchy comedy with Christmas as the main theme. I think it would be enjoyed.

2020-11-20 14:08:02 +0000 UTCthose movies are of mixed genre, so Die Hard is a good thing to add, but if you want more of a drama, try, "The Family Man." Its got some elements of "A Christmas Carol" ... but its not just a re-write.

2020-11-20 05:40:03 +0000 UTCYou could combine your Natmare series and your Twas The Nat Before Christmas (did anyone else come up with that?) and do Black Christmas, which is a Christmas slasher movie. There are even three versions of it, the original from the 70's, one from last decade, and one from last year. And the original was directed by the guy who wrote and directed A Christmas Story, Bob Clark.

The Muppets’ Christmas Carol is also very good, and a surprisingly faithful adaptation of the Dickens novel, but also funny and charming. Cheers, Nat!
