"...it was mostly sweet and wholesome right before everything's gonna come crumbling down and devastate me." Wow. She's pretty good at this.

2025-04-24 01:46:12 +0000 UTCI agree, Ellie's character change in TLOU Season 2 is so unlikeable. The therapist's brutal honesty was hilarioous, pointing out Joel's problem with Ellie is the most common parenthood problem ever: A teenager to acting like they hate their parent(s). But we know why Ellie resents Joel: He lied to her about saving her from the Firefly Hospital, and she believes he stole her agency. Now she's trying to prove she doesn't need him to save her ever again. We get it. It doesn't make her a compelling or sympathetic character. Ellie sucks now. I like Dina; she's a great new character, and her interaction with Joel was great. Dina is sweet, friendly, has a great work ethic, and people like her. She's basically the opposite of who Ellie has become. And opposites attract. I would rather Dina be the protagonist than Ellie. The actress who portrays Dina is so much better than Bella Ramsy, who is a one-trick pony as the petite spitfire ever since her debut in Game of Thrones. Bella makes Millie Bobby Brown seem like she has acting range. Joel was great in the premiere, especially given his limited screen time. It's great that Joel settled into the peaceful role as the foreman of the construction crew, utilizing his pre-apocalypse skills to build a community. It's an excellent place for his character, and the scene with the therapist demonstrated he's TRYING to be a better man, but he's burdened by always making the hard choices that no one else can. Such a shame.

2025-04-22 03:32:45 +0000 UTCjust start to watch the second season. Damn, they make Ellie so unlikable in this season. I mean Ellie from the second game was also reckless and talks shit all the time, but she was still likable and charismatic. The show for some reason makes her rude and unlikable. Dina kinda became one of my favorite characters in this show. She is so sweet and brings so much positive energy into the scenes. She is a little sunshine. She is so likable. I don't understand how someone like Dina falls in love with Ellie (from the show). Joe is great. Pedro Pascal is such a great actor. The scene with him and the therapist, the moment she asked him what did he do to Ellie and we just focused on his face and there was no dialog. Pedro Pascale acted the shit out of this part. The way he acted with his eyes. You can tell he is in so much pain. Such a great scene.
