Tekken Talk Lidia Special: Release Date, Photo Mode, Bikinis, Oh My!

Well, that's that. The Tekken Talk LIdia Special just aired, and it was a long one, which is great since its a lot of stuff to watch while we're waiting on the release. Granted, a lot of it was just the devs rambling (in Japanese) but still, lots of stuff to take in.

Of course there was the usual merchandise and other chores at the start- easy skips. Once we actually get to Lidia, we get the release date- July 25/26 is the official release, with Season Pass owners getting early access on July 22/23, so just ten days away as of this writing, which is not terrible. I wished it was sooner, but then, I guess I get to use the current working CTs a while longer.

Lidia has her moves and style converted to Tekken 8, she just looks cool as usual when she moves. We then move to Photo Mode, which I guess I have a use for. Many photo features that I often gloss over, but maybe this time I can play with them more.

The Big One is the confirmation of BIKINIS, with the devs just casually showing a pic with the Polish PM showing off her bikini body (and she looks HOT). We get to see Alisa in the bikini as well. Unfortunately, the swimsuit- which is a bikini with sarong, also comes with SANDALS. We don't know yet if there is a barefoot swimsuit like in Tekken 7, but this is a bit annoying. That said, we can always fix that with mods. The bikini shown was nice, but hey, we've had bikini mods already for months (which hopefully will be updated for Lidia's arrival).

A battle pass was also announced, and I hope the bikinis are in a separate pack instead of being bp rewards. We'll see I guess.

And of course, and a nice touch- Lidia will be replacing Eddy on the main screen, THANK GOD. I do hope they implement the option to put the character of your choice there in the spotlight eventually.

So all in all, I'm pretty happy and excited. I wish they showed off more of the swimsuits as well as a barefoot bikini, but again- we'll manage whatever happens. A little bit more waiting, but we've been waiting for a long time- what's another ten days? UGH...
