Alongside fighting games, I do love RPGs, especially Action RPGs such as the Souls Series by From Software. Fortunately, it seems that the man behind the Soulsbourne games- Hidetaka Miyazaki, is a man of culture like us. Pretty much getting a reputation as the Quentin Tarantino of videogames, Miyazaki's games often include barefooted female characters. These include memorable barefoot boss babe Sister Friede from Dark Souls 3 and of course lovely shoeless muses in Elden Ring such as Sellen, Fia and Nepheli Loux.
Well, you can add another barefoot beauty to the franchise, via the just-released Elder Ring Nightreign. One of the playable characters is The Revenant, a lovely but also kinda creepy barefoot magic-user, necromancer and caster. She is easily the most intriguing hero to use in the game (for us), although I think she needs to be unlocked first. Aside from her, it seems that unlockable skins that let you cosplay as Friede are also available.
Unfortunately, this is a team-based (for the most part) rogue-like action game more similar to Fortnite than anything else. Solo offline play is possible but apparently quite difficult. Also, it is a game by a first-time director, not Miyazaki himself, but maybe he was still able to suggest adding in a barefoot beauty regardless... (and yeah, Miyazaki is From's CEO so he can probably do that lol).
Who knows- maybe I'll be intrigued enough to get Nightreign in the future. For now though, enjoy the trailer!
