To be fair when sanji said don’t underestimate robin to Black Maria, we haven’t seen robin go all out since the time skip especially when it’s a 1v1 fight as she usually is seen as support in previous fights.

I feel like a lot of people misunderstand. Sanji didnt want to put Robin through through this cause of his mistake, but, the fact that he called her show that he put the mission above his own pride. He has totally faith that they wont be able to beat her.

You could kind of count her fight against Hammond in Fish-Man Island as a 1v1. It didn't get as much focus as other fights but she took him on and defeated him on her own.

Can't wait for this fight! 🫣😱 But yes I get that people will be upset at Sanji but he knows that Robin is seriously strong. And has perfect faith in her. Almost all the straw hats are getting to their 1 on 1 battles now. Robin is the perfect matchup for Maria

Sanji calling for Robin is a great moment. It accomplishes many thing. First, it shows major development for Sanji who before would not ask for help and tried to do things on his own. Second, it shows the absolute trust that Sanji has in Robin. Third, a lesser stated aspect of this but one that is incredibly important is that Sanji doing this has led the entire alliance to notice the Marys as shown by Usopp. They now know about the Beast Pirates' massive communication system.
