So Akari and Grandpa, and probably Hina, (who knows how much Momo actually understands) 100% know that Rei's family died. They talked about it during the Obon Festival when they lit the ceremonial smoke and Grandpa flat out asked Rei where his parents were buried. There was also the scene were Momo said Rei was crying and Akari said that he USED to have a little sister. And Akari definetly knows that Rei has some sort of foster family from the time he got sick and she got mad at him for saying that he was alone and nobody would care if he was sick and showed him the phone record of all the missed calls from his Dad.
