In the very beginning Fujimaki asked for Nanbu's Eye as payment for his Debt, but in order to save it he came up with this big scheme. So instead of going through with the Rigged Match he payed up with the original deal, His Eye.

The brushing the fingers against the wall is a callback to the first episode when Joe brushes against a bloody wall on the way to the underground fight.

I agree with Nadeem. It may be that Fujimaki was so impressed with Nanbu's sacrifice that he's just going to let them go...or maybe that's just hopeful thinking. Anyway, love the show and love watching it with you guys!

In relation to my previous comment: Taking the whole scorpion analogy, Nanbu's final act was stinging himself not Joe (The frog) or Fujimaki (The snake, since he has a snake like tatoo)

Fujimaki's decision was not pragmatic as he usually does but rather sentimental. He states that nanbu this time took his own eye and lost the opportunity to ever see Joe on the ring, which was his strongest desire, seeing Joe box. So putting it on a senitimental scale Fujimaki sees the balance paid off as Nanbu loosing his desire was of equal weight to Fujimaki's investment. Rather odd but again it was a decision spurred by emtions so logic and reason are not in the equation. BTW loved your reaction to this episode and previous ones as well.
