THANK YOU. I don't understand what people aren't getting here. its one thing to change the translation itself, but when you change the actual animation to match your flawed subtitles, that's too far. I don't care if it was only a minor change or if it made what was said easier to understand, it's incredibly disrespectful to the animators that poured hours of work into each episode. translators should stick to translating. it isn't their place to change the content of the show itself

2022-09-04 17:04:05 +0000 UTCAs someone who is Japanese American, and who has a mom who does translating (from Japanese to English) as an actual living, it is definitely not okay when translators overdo it with taking their own liberties like arrogant sons of bitches, thereby making the translations shit and inaccurate. But if that's how you roll then that's how you roll. Still like your reactions themselves, it's just a huge shame and really unfortunate that you're for w/e reason hooked on amateur subs.
