An example with the current poll standings as I type this (to clarify once again this is just an EXAMPLE): Mushishi, Nana, Space Bros, and Kino are top 4 in that order. Say Caleb picks Nana and Jacob picks Kino or something. So even though Mushishi might have the most votes, it won't get watched and neither will Space Bros. Then the votes between the two shows *they chose* is what settles the watch order. In this example, Nana currently has 278 and Kino has 203 so Nana would be watched first then Kino.

Joe 2 is a different production made A DECADE later and should probably have its own poll entry for this reason, or at least considered as something more than just a sequel. It's also an adaptation of the original joe manga of course, but to say it "overlaps" with Joe 1 like they just aired the same stuff again is disingenuous. Iirc they placed 2 in a different time period from the manga even.

Been meaning to watch it again to see if it holds up to being one of my favourite anime of all time. Space Brothers too, being one of my favourites, tho unfortunately only third place. At least that probably means we'll get it eventually!
