Ginpatsu(銀髪) no samurai = Gin(silver) + patsu(hair) samurai Ginshari(銀シャリ) no samurai = Gin(silver) + shari(rice) samruai. Sanpatsu(散髪) no samurai = San(scatter/disperse) + patsu(hair). Basically, samurai having a haircut. Katsu-Katsu(カツカツ) no samurai = Samurai who is poor. That's why Hijikata was telling that only samurai part was correct. Sorry for the long explanation though lol As you can see, Japanese use puns by changing kanji with same/similar pronunciation which changes the whole meaning.
