Hi Randy! A lot of this is new territory for me, so thank you for speaking up and mentioning things that would be helpful to you! I would be happy to share my thoughts on the maps and provide more of a backstory to you guys for your use. I just never know what people really want -- if they want a lot of exposition, or they just want the map because they're going to do their own thing anyways. ;) As for the Wyrmspine, my vision for the tavern would be that the dragon skeleton (which was fairly young due to its relatively small size) was found in the nearby foothills and likely offered up to the money lender as payment for a debt upon a day, and something he/she decided to make a prominent feature of the tavern. The tavern proper has a wide range of seating at the bar, a few more intimate tables, large round and long tables for gatherings and gaming, along with a special table for the proprietor and his/her honored guests. The 2-room suite includes the office/bedroom of the proprietor, and the adjoining rooms likely house loyal guards/thugs/servants of his, while the remaining rooms are rented to a variety of guests that come to enjoy the tavern's games, food and entertainment. I placed a trap door (slightly obscured by his bedroom carpet) that would lead to a lower chamber escape tunnel and (likely) his private stash of valuables to the basement of an adjoining building. The wall upon which the dragon sits is actually a hallway that leads back to the kitchen, so servers can move beneath the dragon to the back kitchen area and return with supplies, food, drink, etc... The west side of the tavern features a stage, with several small seating areas outside of the rented rooms (reserved for those staying in the rooms) to watch the show. The rooftops have small stations set up by members of the local thieves guild, paid for by the money lender to watch the streets for signs of trouble and help warn/intervene if said trouble arrives. The money lender is good business for the thieves' guild, so it's also in their interests to keep him/her in business. I figured this would be a fun place for players/adventurers to go if/when they need some service/item that the money lender might have, as he/she not only has coin to lend, but also has been gifted a great many objects/goods/services in trade for debt, one of which may be just what an adventurer needs. Perhaps the money lender wants to hire the party to track down the contents of a map that came into their possession and find a particular treasure, or take an object to another destination for a delivery, or offer it to the party in exchange for a favor. They could also be used as a point of contact or introduction with the Thieves' Guild or woven into a potential story involving assassins he knows are coming for him, or helping take out a rival merchant, etc... Those are some of my thoughts! =)

Hey Jeff, nice map as always. Had you considered publishing a little more in the way of descriptions? I mean you obviously thought this stuff through when you were creating it, but we the users need to just squint and say, "...I don't know, I guess that's a ...stage? With a . . .piano, maybe? Why does the tavern have a dragon skeleton? Is it like, hanging from the ceiling, or just laying across the banquet table, or??? What's the deal with all the surrounding buildings apparently having (little seating areas?) on their (roofs?). A little detail to help us interpret the map would be extremely helpful.
