Free Patron-Voted Illustration : Dwarven Mines of Mhalduun

Upon reaching 600 Patrons, you voted the Dwarven Mining City of Mhalduun as the next Illustration to be done, and it has been completed!

I asked for the artist to select a portion of the map that would potentially give you a new look at a dwarven kingdom outside of the typical dwarven doors, dwarven throne room or dwarven forge. Thus, we have the heart of the dwarven colony, the delivery system of the raw and finished products from the mine, which are loaded onto the cranes and then lowered to the river barges below for transport out of the mountain.

I really think this did a great job of capturing the feel of the dwarven kingdom, as well as finding a unique aspect of the map itself to represent.

If you like it, let me know how you think they did!

I hope you love it as much as I do! =)

Thanks, Paul! I wish I could take credit for the illustrations, but they're something I have commissioned for you guys. Most of these have been by an artist named Floris Roding, and I agree - he does awesome work! I'm glad you're enjoying them!

I think your artwork is the most underrated part of your Patreon. I mean, I love all the maps you create but these pieces of fantasy art are so well done. Thanks for sharing them with all of us!

This works really well for me as well. My campaign that is about to start is based in a Dwarven Kingdom, the capitol has a large central spine of activity. The upper halls are shops and inn's and Bars and finished commercial goods. The lower halls are forges and smelters with access to a river for transportation. This image is perfect for the lower hall.

Oh yeah, nice! I love how it feels active and alive, and also three-dimensional and large. The colors are great, add feelings of warmth and cold, and it's overall really nice!
