Chapter 117 [Vault]

Title - Valkyrie Mikaelson: The Mistress of Essences | Chapter 11

[3rd POV]

Driving through the outskirts of Mystic Falls, towards where Esther was going to do the ritual to kill them all at, Valkyrie leaned back in her seat as Finn sat next to her, quietly listening to the music that played over the radio.

“The music of this century is…far better than I remember ours ever being” The man said, as Bohemian Rhapsody played over the radio.  

“Ours usually involve killing, sex, or the Gods, so It’s not too surprising, they were always a bit…interesting to listen to” Valkyrie replied, remembering the amount of songs that involved war or sex, or anything else that was probably not appropriate for a child to listen to.

“Ah that is…not wrong. I suppose it was only natural that the humans of this era would move to less…graphic material. It’s certainly more appealing to the ears than what we had” Finn said, remembering all the songs he had been forced to listen to, with very few of them being any good. 

“Perhaps I’ll buy you some records? There is a lot of music that I can see you liking. Michael Jackson and Queen seem to be the ones that humans of this era love” Valkyrie offered, which caused Finn to smile. 

“Only if you’ll listen to it with me” Finn responded, as Valkyrie let out a small chuckle. 

“Of course, dear brother, but only after we kill our oh so loving mother, and stop the Salvatores from killing any of our siblings” Valkyrie replied, knowing that the brothers would keep trying to end their lives, so long as they were a threat to Elena. 

Only Rebekah, Klaus, and Elijah were involved with her. While her, Kol, and Finn, could care less about her, with Kol just being interested in messing with her and that’s about it. 

“How are you going to go about that, sister? Our mother is powerful, especially now that she has forcefully gained the power of the Bennett bloodline” Finn asked as Valkyrie simply gave him a mysterious smile. 

“You’ll see soon, brother. Trust me when I say that I can kill her, as well as the Salvatores if I have to” Valkyrie didn’t want to kill Stefan, but if she had to, she would. Damon on the other hand, she held no qualms about ending his life, not with his tendency to control women and then lay with them, which was…not exactly consensual. 

She had made sure her brothers NEVER did such a thing, and from what she had seen, they hadn’t. The most they ever did was use it to suck their blood and that is it. Which Valkyrie was very happy about. 

“Alright sister, just…be careful” 

“Please, careful is my middle name!” Valkyrie replied with a smirk as the man just rolled his eyes fondly, as they continued to drive in peace, quietly conversing as they grew closer to where there mother was.

After another ten minutes of driving, they had finally gotten to where Esther was. 

Walking through the forest towards where Esther was, the two kept silent so as to not alert the woman, as they began to walk closer and closer to a light filled area. 

Walking into the opening, Valkyrie frowned at the sight of Bonnie and her mother standing behind Esther. 

“...Daughter” Esther said as Valkyrie ignored her. 

“I must ask, little witch, why are you helping Esther?” Valkyrie asked, ignoring her mother as Finn watched for any sort of movements.

“I-because the ancestors want me to, they’re helping her” Bonnie said, although Valkyrie could tell that the girl didn’t really want to do this, but her mother did, and she was only listening to that part. 

“No, she’s not. She’s used some rather…nasty dark magic to forcefully call upon the magic of your ancestors. This magic is used through a blood sacrifice, which would be you or your mother, in this case. The Bennetts of old would never support Esther, not with my mother on the other side” Valkyrie explained, as Esther frowned. 

Bonnie and Abby’s eyes widened at this, looking to Esther with wide eyes of horror. 

“I suggest the two of you leave before my siblings get here. And watch out for the Salvatores, they’re going to try and kill one of you. But just stick together and I’ll deal with this” Valkyrie said, as they nodded. 

“I-thank you” Bonnie said before running off into the building behind them. 

“Glad you have joined us, brothers” Valkyrie said as Elijah, Kol, and Klaus all walked out of the trees towards them. 

“Ah mother, why am I not surprised that you are doing this? Just the sort of thing you’d do” Kol said with a dramatic sigh as Esther looked over her sons. 

“You cannot stop me, my sons, my daughter. And no amount of begging for your lives will change what is going to happen” Esther said as the flame filled torches began to pick up in heat and size. 

“Whatever you think of us, killing your own children will be an atrocity” Elijah said as they stood across from the woman who was seemingly shielded inside of the pentagram and torches. 

“My only regret, is that I did not let you die a thousand years ago” 

“Enough, all this talk is boring me. End this now mother, or I’ll send you back to hell” Klaus spoke as Valkyrie silently listened, allowing her brothers to say their part. 

“For a thousand years, I have been forced to watch you, felt the pain of every victim, suffered while you shed blood. Even you Elijah, with your claim to nobility, you’re no better. All of you…you’re a curse on this Earth stretched out over generations” Esther spoke, as Valkyrie had enough. 

“And what does that make you, Esther? The one who had caused all of this? Allowed Mikael to mistreat my siblings, using dark magic to forcefully turn them into what they are? If they are monsters, then what are you?” Valkyrie said as she walked closer. 

“I may have created you, but I am no mons-” “You are a monster mother, for what mother kills their children to turn them into so called “Monsters”? What mother plans a mass genocide of thousands? What mother plans the deaths of her children because of her OWN actions? The witches of today all complain about Vampires, but it’s almost as if you forget that witches have committed more atrocities than any of us” Valkyrie said with a scoff. 

“Valky-” “You have no right to say my name, Esther, for you are not, and never will be my mother. Ayana is the only mother I have ever had, and the brothers behind me, Henrik, and Rebekah are the only family I hold. Which makes what I am about to do all that much easier” Valkyrie said coldly, as her eyes began to glow a crimson color, as Klaus behind her breathed in deeply. 

“You cannot stop me daughter, no one can now-” Esther couldn’t continue her words as Valkyrie disappeared in a flash of light, before reappearing in front of the woman, her eyes widening in horror as with one, singular might blow, Valkyrie’s fist slammed into her chest.  

“Wha-cough h-how” Esther coughed blood, Valkyrie’s brothers widening in shock at the sight. 

“I’m not a simple wolf, Esther. Never have been, never will be. This, this is what happens when ANYONE dares to touch MY FAMILY” Valkyrie snarled, a deep boom to her voice as her eyes glowed bright red, and with one, final squeeze, she crushed her mothers heart, as she dropped to the floor, a singular tear trickling down her cheek, as she died at her daughter's hand.

“Si-Sister you-” “Killed her? Yeah, I did. And I don’t feel bad for it, brother. Our mother was a monster, and I will not allow her to hurt any of you, regardless of what you have done over the years” Val cut Elijah off, as she stared down at the body with a cold look, the flames being extinguished as the Bennett ancestors were freed from the dark magic that was threatening to control them. 

“Are you okay, Val?” Kol asked as they walked towards her. 

“I’m fine, little brother, trust me. It’s…like a weight has been lift from my shoulders” Val responded with a smile, before looking at Elijah. 

“Ah, brother, I suggest you tell Rebekah to let the little doppelganger go, as much as I don’t like her, it’d be best to keep her alive for now. At least until Nik figures out how to make his hybrids without her blood” Valkyrie said as Elijah sighed and nodded, before bringing his phone out and walking off. 

“Sister, I don't need such things anymore. I…I only wished to create them so I can have someone like me, but now that you are back…I have all the family I need” Klaus said, as Kol huffed. 

“So I’m not your family, brother? I’m wounded!” Klaus just smirked slightly and patted him on the shoulder. 

“What should we do with the body?” Finn asked as he stared at his mothers corpse. He felt…apathetic to her death, like…like she meant nothing to him. 

“You’re welcome to bury her. I, personally, will be talking with the little Bennett and making sure she is okay” Valkyrie said as Kol smirked. 

“Oh?~ Is my big sister interested in her?”

“Yes” Valkyrie replied bluntly as he blinked at her bluntness, while Klaus let out a small laugh. 

“She’ll be in your arms in no time, sister. Afterall, we both share the devilish charm that the ladies just love” Klaus said as Valkyrie rolled her eyes fondly, before walking into the old run down manor, and into its basement where they should be. 

Walking through it, she soon found Bonnie who jumped as she rounded the corner into Valkyrie. 

“Whoa, you okay there little witch?” Valkyrie asked as the girl breathed out. 

“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine. You just scared me, that’s all. Is it over, is Esther gone?” Bonnie asked as Valkyrie nodded. 

“She is, you won’t have to worry about my mother controlling the power of your family anymore. You and your mother are safe now, from my family at least” Valkyrie said with a smile as Bonnie breathed out a sigh of relief. 

“Thank you so much. I-it means a lot. Are-Are we still willing to teach me after all of this?” Bonnie asked. She really wanted to learn more magic, and Valkyrie seemed like the perfect person to learn it from. 

“Of course. I made a promise, didn’t I? And I don’t break my promises, especially not to a cute little thing like you” Valkyrie said with a smirk, as Bonnie’s eyes widened slightly, blushing a little only to shake it off as Abby entered the room they were in.

“Is she gone?” Abby asked, nervous as she stood in front of the unknown Mikaelson.

“Yep. You two are welcome to leave, and I’ll be seeing you later, little Witch” Valkyrie said as Bonnie blushed slightly, dragging her mother off with her, who was rather bewildered. 

‘How cute’ Valkyrie thought with a smirk as she watched them walk off. She wasn’t sure where the interest in the girl came from, but her “Inner Wolf” rather liked her, and therefore, she liked her. 

With the death of her mother over with, and the Bennetts safe, Valkyrie let out a sigh and had one final thought on her mind as she left the manor. 

‘Let’s see how good these essences will be’
