Chapter 254 [Vault]

Title - Josie Saltzman: The Ultimate Siphoner | Chapter 1 | Female

___________________________________________________________

I died. I’m not sure how, when, or even why, but I did.

One moment was watching some Legacies (a guilty pleasure show) and the next, I was in a never-ending void of absolute nothingness. I wasn’t sick or unhealthy, nor was I eating, so how I died is a mystery to me.

Maybe this is one of those fanfiction situations? I’ve read, watched, and listened to tons of fictional material, fanfic being one of the most prevalent.

The void is a pretty common occurrence in reincarnation/transmigration fanfic stories, so maybe that’s what this is?

[That would be correct]

[You have died. And just as you’d assume, have been chosen to be reincarnated into a new life. Your powers have already been chosen. This being:

Your genetic ability from your bloodline, but boosted to allow you to absorb other parts of those you use it on. Such as abilities, bloodlines, traits, etc.

The ability to travel the omniverse, and bring others with you. Time passes at a maximum of 1 year while gone.

One random ability from one of your favorite fictional universes. With the potential to develop other abilities that are in the same archetype.

And complete immunity to all forms of power sealing, stealing, copying, absorption, awakening, wtc]

Uh, not bad, I think?

[Beginning reincarnation. Background is already selected. Please enjoy your new life…Josie Saltzman]

Upon hearing those words my jaw dropped, as my eyes widened.

Josie Saltzman, but that’s-

[3rd POV]

The teens' thoughts couldn’t continue as everything began to go dark. A powerful pulling sensation began to pull her away, as everything went completely and utterly dark, and she disappeared from the void.

Within Salvatore Boarding School, within a room inside said school, a teenage girl lay within her bed, another lay in a bed next to hers, sleeping.

The teenage girl in question was standing at around 5’6, and was quite beautiful. But more noticeably, a soft glow was forming from her skin, in the form of a large tattoo that spanded across her form. This was Josie Saltzman.

[The Tattoo is the one below]

Slowly, Josie let out a low grunt, as her eyes began to creep open. As her eyes opened, they glowed ever so slightly in reaction to the power rolling through her, before they stopped glowing, same with her tattoos.

Sitting up, Josie breathed out ‘…So all of that really happened. And I’ve been reborn’ Josie thought, looking down at her hands, clenching them as she felt something…new.

‘And If I’m right, those memories…that was my past life. Meaning that they’ve only just now unlocked after living for 15 years. But I’m also a year older in this world in comparison to what I normally would be. Not that I’m complaining I guess’ Josie thought, remembering what her past life had watched, and in accordance to that, she was a bit older than normal, but not by much.

Looking at her arms, she breathed out a sharp breath as she recognized what she was looking at ‘…Siren…I’ve become a Siren’ Josie thought, remembering the game that she had played in her past life, Borderlands.

Sirens were important characters to that universe, and had a range of powers. From going invisibly, teleportation, controlling space, to what she believed her own power was. The ability to absorb the power of others.

’How is this going to interact with my siphoner abilities and the upgrade they’ve already gotten? Does this mean my absorption is going to be even stronger than normal?’ Josie thought, realizing that this might be much stronger than she was initially expecting.

Glancing over to her left, she noticed that her sister was asleep still, which caused her to smile, as she got to her feet.

‘…With my memories of this life and the past, I think me staying here is…not a good idea’ Josie thought, recognizing that in this life, she was…well, pretty neglected all things considered. Sure, her father was a good man, but he didn’t pay nearly as much attention to her, as he did to his sister and Hope.

She didn’t really blame him entirely, as the two of them needed it a lot more than her, but it still hurt quite a lot. It also doesn’t help that she had recently been cheated on by her girlfriend, Penelope.

‘Hmm…I think I might have a good universe I can travel to and grow in’ Josie thought, remembering another universe that had a good school that she could attend, with all sorts of supernatural creatures and a lot of ways she could get more power.

She needed power, she knew that much. With Malivore and all the other crap coming her way, not to mention her desire to travel the multiverse and see the greater expanse of existence.

With that in mind, Josie began to quietly grab clothes and began to shove them into a large bag that she had. Alongside other necessities like toothpaste, toiletries, and even the cash that she had stashed. Saved up from birthdays and other things, which was a little over two thousand dollars, enough to set her up for a short while once she went to the new universe she was planning on going to.

Slipping into a simple shirt and jeans, Josie looked around and found a pen and paper, as she began to write a simple note for her sister and father to find. It was the best she could work with, as anything more than that and she would be found.

She also decided to take her phone with her, as while she had no idea if it would work in the new universe, she wanted to at least see if she could use her magic to make it work.

Either way, Josie looked around and decided that she was ready, as she slipped out of the bedroom, shutting it behind her.

She had to be quiet as she walked through the halls of the school, as the school itself was full of vampires, werewolves, and a lot of teachers that didn’t sleep at all. Mostly her father for the latter aspect, so she had to make sure to not alert anyone, if anyone was even awake at the moment. As the last thing she wanted was to get caught right now.

But before she left, Josie looked to the side, towards the bedroom of Hope.

‘…I guess I can at least give her a gift before I go’ Josie thought, as she walked towards her room to pay her back for a mistake she had made years ago.

After finishing in Hope’s room, which she managed to slip into without too much difficulty thanks to using a cloaking spell she had learned over the years, Josie was now standing outside of the school, looking back at it.

‘Hopefully next time I’m here, I’ll be several times stronger, and won’t have to depend so much on the others around me’ Josie thought with a smile, as she turned and began to walk away towards the front gate of the school, but instead of actually going through the gate, she activated her omniversal traveling abilities.

Her destination?

The universe of…
