Chapter 34 [Vault]

Title - The blessed Swan and her Evil Queen

___________________________________________

Emma Swan was very confused. She had been having a rather…normal week, doing her usual job as a bail bondsperson, which she had been doing for a while now. The job today was easy enough, finding some jackass who thought he could run away. After taking him in, she returned to her humble abode.

She decided to watch a movie, which one? She ended up with Harry Potter, a classic that she had yet to watch…and promptly got addicted. In a single day, she finished the first three movies, finishing the last four within another two days.

But, then she decided that trying to cast Lumos with a spoon was cool, as childish and embarrassing as it was…only for a glimmer of light to begin glowing off the end of the spoon.

“...What the hell?” Emma whispered, eyes wide at the sight of the tip of the spoon glowing. Touching the spoon, she blinked in confusion at the sight. It wasn’t even hot, which that alone made no sense, but she more focused on what seemed to be magic.

‘I didn’t get drugged, did I?’ Emma thought, looking at the spoon, before lifting it again and speaking “Wingardium Leviosa” The second those words escaped her mouth, the nearby pizza box began to float.

“Okay, I’m definitely not hallucinating…am I?” Emma muttered, walking forward as the pizza box stopped floating. Softly, she pinched herself, hissing slightly at the pain, before realizing that she was definitely not asleep or hallucinating.

“Okay, Emma, relax, you just used what looks to be magic, that’s all…not a big deal” Emma muttered, tossing the pizza box into the trash.

Emma flopped onto her couch, calming herself down as she began to think about what the hell was happening. As far as she knew, magic was all fake, stories and folktales, not real.

‘Does this work on other spells then? What about spells from other movies, I heard there’s that show, Merlin was it? There’s also Vampire Diaries, but that show kinda sucked…oh god…I’m gonna have to watch a bunch of terrible teenage dramas, aren’t I?’ Emma thought, a soft groan escaping her at the realization.

She inwardly questioned why she was so calm, as normally she would be having a panic attack over this sort of thing. But instead, she was just calmly thinking this through. Sure, the jackass she went after punched her in the face pretty hard, and she was knocked out for a little while, but this? This was a big change, but, she decided that questioning that would just bring about a panic attack, for real this time.

‘And what about cartoons? Or an-anime was it? Could they work too?’ Emma began to think.

Having magic was a reason to panic, sure, but it also brought out something in Emma, that she hadn’t felt in…a long long time. A childlike awe, the desire to learn more about this, just as she had when she was a child and was obsessed with fairytales.

Emma stopped as she gazed at her tv screen, a strange feeling filled her. Getting up, she grabbed the DVD for Harry Potter and Sorceror Stone, before fast-forwarding to a scene in the library.

She followed the feeling inside of her, and softly placed her hand against her flatscreen. Her eyes shot open as books began to appear in her front room.

“Oh shit!” She cursed, seeing dozens of books continuously appearing. Realizing her living room would be filled if she didn’t do something, she quickly turned the tv off, letting out a relieved sigh as the books stopped appearing.

“So I don’t just use magic, but I can also…take objects from the movie?” Emma muttered, as she moved and grabbed one of the books.

“The Standard Book of Spells, grade 1…” Emma muttered, looking at the book, before flipping it open.

Emma read through several pages of the book, the book explained the theory of spells and was basically an introduction to them.

‘Doesn’t this mean I can…learn magic? If it works with Harry Potter, couldn’t I potentially grab objects from other movies too?’ Emma thought, breathing in as she realized just what she could use this for.

‘Let’s start with Wands’

_______________________________

[Much later]

An entire month had passed since Emma had discovered her magical powers, and to say she began to use them, would be an understatement.

The first thing she did after realizing she could summon objects from movies, was summon herself a wand.

She had absolutely no idea what the wand was made of, but it was powerful, in her hands at least. She began to cast her spells with the wand, before learning them and doing them wandlessly. It was easier with the wand, but it also felt like a crutch of sorts.

She had used this time to do as many spells as possible. She learned them through the books she summoned, through watching the movies, and through literally anything else she could use.

She wasn’t sure if she was a genius, or if the spells were just naturally easy to learn, but in a single month, she had already learned and mastered the first 4 years of spells. Most of them were incredibly easy to learn and needed little practice.

There was only one spell she couldn’t cast no matter how hard she tried, and that was the Patronus charm. It hurt that she didn’t have enough happy memories to cast it, but she wasn’t surprised in the least.

During this month, she had also tried summoning other objects. One of them was a lightsaber, which failed spectacularly. She did some further testing, mainly by buying some sci-fi movies, and not once could she summon an object from them. Upon this discovery, she realized she could only summon objects from magic/fantasy/supernatural movies and shows, not sci-fi.

Using this knowledge, she ended up also finding out another limit of this summoning. It used her magic, meaning, the stronger the object she was attempting to summon, the more energy it took from her. She found this out when she tried summoning the philosopher's stone, and failed miserably, nearly passing out when she did so.

Realizing that she needed more magic, she began to try and figure out how to increase it. Before realizing that just practicing, using spells, and learning, had increased it. Thus, her pursuit of magic had increased massively.

She began to learn spell after spell, magic after magic. She continued to do her job as a bailsbondswoman and bounty hunter, doing even better than before with a tiny hint of magic boosting her.

She, by the end of the second month, had finished all 7 years of Hogwarts books, moving onto more advanced stuff she had summoned from Dumbledore’s office when it appeared, and any other helpful books from the Hogwarts library.

Over time, she had also learnt to control her summoning, summoning only books she hadn’t read, helpful ones, all through her own intent.

One of the most important books she had read through, was the occlumency books. It was used to strengthen her mind, help control her emotions, make it so her mind processed things faster, and all sorts of things.

Practicing it…was an entirely different story, and was by far the hardest thing she tried to learn. It took her months to actually master it too a good extent.

After the fourth month of learning Harry Potter magic, she began to learn magic from other universes. Vampire Diaries, Merlin, Chronicles of Narnia, and several other movies and shows. She watched through movies and shows dozens of times, finding herself more and more absorbed in magic.

She made sure to keep her physical health of course, still keeping her toned, slightly muscular arms, toned abs, and strong physique.

She limited the objects she summoned to purely books, knowing that she didn’t have the power to summon something like the Elder Wand, not yet at least.

By the time a year passed, Emma had learned dozens if not hundreds of spells and had long since surpassed people like Dumbledore.

And on her 28th birthday, over a year after she had learnt of the wonderful world of magic, she opened her door to find a young brown haired standing there, a smile on his face.

“Can I help you?” Emma asked, looking to the kid. She was in the middle of reading up on some Merlin spells and was rather busy.

“Are you Emma Swan?”

“Yeah, who are you?” Emma asked in confusion, wondering if she was being pranked or something.

“My names Henry. I’m your son”

And there is is.

Love interest should be very very obvious to those that have watched this show. Emma’s additional powers were thrown in after I read a fic where someone could take items from other universes, by literally sticking their hands into the movie they were watching. It was pretty neat.

As you’d assume, this Emma is slightly OOC in the sense that she is a bit smarter, but still as headstrong as before. But, with her new knowledge of magic, and experience, things will go quite a bit differently than before. Especially when involving a certain evil queen.

I plan on uploading another fic for OUAT soon, this time being an OC who has both Emma AND Regina as her love interests. She’d be based off several villains, mostly Disney ones. And would be a reincarnator in a specific way, like in a lot of my other stories.

I eventually plan on having one of my main fics mc’s go to this universe, so this is sorta a trial run. I also need to re-watch this show, as it has been years, and the only reasons I know by heart, are the first two.

Anyways, have a good day!
