I never thought Lucas deserved Peyton or Brooke. This season proved more than any other time that Lucas is NOT the right guy for Peyton. He proposed out of his own insecurities, uncaring that she wasn't ready at 18/19 to get married, made up his own story about the reason she said no, blamed her for his ultimatum which NO ONE would have responded well to and continue to gaslight her for being heartbroken over his own dumb ass decisions. Peyton is right to be broken up about the way she was treated, she's right to feel sad to see him moving on so easily and confused about him continuing to be around and angered that he's doing his stupid disappointed act that she didn't start loving Lindsey and becoming her BFF. She needs space to get over him but he's always around and then he gets angry that she's angry and heartbroken. Lucas is a piece of work and everyone treats him like he's the best guy ever and it's toxic AF. This isn't fair for Lindsey, either, who I think wants Peyton to be her friend because she understands on some level that Lucas will always go back and forth because that's what his whole first novel was all about. I'm so glad Brooke moved on from Lucas and it has ALWAYS been my fondest wish for this show that Peyton moved on from Lucas too. I wanted her to end up with an ACTUAL good guy, like Jake.

Honestly, that fight between Peyton and Lucas is one of my favorite scenes between the two of them (which sounds wired because its a fight) however, there was so much passion and realness to their fight and you could see how much they cared. I could really feel the passion when I don't feel that way about them all the time (I like Leyton and root for them but I'm not crazy about them. Def not my favorite or even second favorite ship of the show).

I agree it is weird that people expect Peyton to like Lindsey and put on a friendly facade in front of her. They do not need to be friends. Watching Lucas's new relationship is painful for Peyton (hence her irrational bitterness and anger toward Lindsey). I think it's completely human. Of course, this doesn't give Peyton the right to be rude/mean to Lindsey however, Peyton is trying to avoid her (and therefore not take things out on her) however, Lindsey keeps popping up everywhere Peyton is, like her record label, and trying to interact with her. Everyone, including Lindsey, should just allow Peyton to avoid Lindsey. But Lindsey has this huge need for Peyton to like her. She needs to understand that not everyone is going to want to be friends with you or even like you and that's okay.

I don't find Lindsey odd. I think she knows that Lucas's friends are Peyton's friends so she will have to see Peyton a lot. So it would be a lot easier if they were friends or at least on good terms
