I thought for some reason that it couldn't stay in Angel's body because of his own vampire demon so it left his body but since it can't live without a dead host or an unconscious one it dies.

And yea, the demon jumped in Angel, and Angel's demon (a vampire is a human with a demon in the body) killed the evil one. Then you can see it fade away from Angel when it dies.
