Still Alive, Still Editing Book One

TL&DR: The editing of book one has turned into a much more involved process than I expected, and I likely won't be able to start writing book three until late spring 2022. Patreon charges will continue to be turned off until then.

---

Friends, it's been a slog. As I mentioned previously, I hired someone to provide developmental edits for book one, and the result is that he caught every place where I cheated, skimmed, skipped, lapsed, or lost focus. He highlighted all the inconsistencies and times where I didn't provide enough detail. And it's taken a ton of time and effort to fix those missteps. The whole experience has been the worst parts of writing, all crammed together and under a tight deadline. That said, I've learned a lot from the experience, and I don't regret it. My writing will improve as a result of this work.

I'm done with the developmental edits, though, and am halfway through the line edits, which are going much more quickly. All that's left for book one after this is a simple proofread.

The level of editing effort required for book two is unknown, though, and will remain so until I get into it. My hope is that it won't be as intense a process since it's the stronger of the two books, but I won't know for certain until I start on it.

What does this mean for book three? I'm hesitant to establish a time frame--my previous one was completely unrealistic--but I'm hoping to start in the late spring of 2022. Until then, I'll continue to keep the Patreon charges turned off.

Thank you for your patience.  It's so very appreciated.

Heh... I've had to remind myself daily while doing the developmental edits that I'm doing this for fun. ;-)

Keep it up thanks for the update

Im happy you're enjoying yourself. So many of my favorite writers end up losing interest and quiting. I hope you continue to write and find fulfillment in it. Cheers.
