You really don't pay attention

Curtis Murphy

To be fair, everyone have always said that the East Blue is the “weakest” sea. And I think it would get that nickname because there isn’t many strong groups originating from there

Suzume

Thanks for the infos

Kid's surname and name were taken from two real-life pirates. His surname Eustass was taken from 13th century French pirate and mercenary Eustace the Monk, and his name Kid from 17th century Scottish pirate and privateer, William Kidd, who was also nicknamed "Captain". -Hawkins' surname and name were taken from two real-life pirates. His surname Basil was taken from 17th century English pirate Basil Ringrose, and his name Hawkins from 16th century English pirate and privateer John Hawkins. -Also Hawkins is the name of the protagonist of the famous pirate novel Treasure Island. -And also his design is based on "Joey Jordison" the Former Drummer of slipknot. Bonney's name was taken from the 18th century Irish woman Anne Bonny, a noble turned pirate who operated in the Caribbean. -Killer's helmet has been noted to bear resemblance to the French musician Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo's helmet from Daft Punk. Daft Punk was made famous in Japan by their animated film Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem, during which time the duo were wearing outfits designed to make them look like robots. -Oda said he picked the name "Killer" because of his sheer laziness; thus the name holds little to no meaning. It means that he is the only Supernova introduced in the Sabaody Archipelago Arc whose name is not linked to a real-life pirate or privateer and the only one of the group with no other meaning at all. -Law's surname, Trafalgar, was taken from cape Trafalgar in the south-west of Spain. It was the site of a famous naval battle between the British and the French/Spanish fleet during the Napoleonic Wars, dubbed the Battle of Trafalgar. London's landmark Trafalgar Square is named for the battle, as is a class of submarines in the British Royal Navy. -Law's name was taken from 18th century English pirate Edward Low. Apoo's name was taken from 19th century Chinese pirate Chui A-poo. -Drake shares his name, sideburns, and voice actor with another character named Drake. However, this character is non-canon. (aka Lieutenant Commander Drake from G-8 Filler) -Drake's name was taken from 16th century English adventurer and privateer Francis Drake. Bege's surname and name were taken from two criminals. His surname Capone was taken from the 1920's American gangster, Alphonse "Al" Capone, and his name Bege from the English privateer, William le Sauvage. Urouge's name was taken from 16th century Ottoman pirate, Oruç Reis.

Some non Spoiler Trivia for the new Characters/Pirates, just shows how deep Oda goes with his Character when it comes to naming them to match the theme of the show.

I thought it the fleet admiral was the admiral and everyone else was a vice admiral 🤷‍♂️ idfk

Considering that even in the dub he sounds like a boss because he's voiced by Matt Mercer, this rings true in so many languages.

Richie Roberts

honest mistake

TrulyEmunuh

Bruh.. Vice Admiral is not the same as an Admiral

Tomer

I assume he confused it w/ the Fleet Admiral (i.e direct boss of the Admirals) rank

Skebaba

I'm sorry but they said admirals so where did you get the vice from?

Justice League Unlimited

There are 3 Admirals: Aokiji, Akainu and Kizaru

Nguyen Anh Quan

Now that he’s been introduced, I can confidently say that Law will be in your top 5 favorite characters
